We know, it’s scary. Trust me when I say we’ve all been there. Everyone gets nervous before a photo shoot. It’s completely normal to feel uncomfortable being vulnerable in front of the camera, especially when you’re connecting to yourself and doing deep inner work. I used to have a hard enough time being naked by myself, let alone having someone take nude photos of me AHHHH (scream voice). So, loves, let me be here to hold your hand and guide you through this life-changing experience. I bet you will feel more connected and in love with yourself than you have in years!

Your boudoir photography session will either take place in one of our luxurious studios in Victoria, BC, an outdoor adventure session (mountains, forest or ocean- the choice is yours) or if you crave the comfort of your own space, then we do in-home sessions as well! The option is yours!

Our professional and talented makeup & hair artist will create the perfect camera-ready look for you. You are welcome to bring in any makeup looks you love as inspiration for your own look during the shoot. Your hair and makeup will approximately take 90 minutes; just sit back, relax and enjoy being pampered!

An empowerment session with Riske Boudoir typically lasts about 2 hours. This is plenty of time to get everything we need and much more.

Professional, high-quality retouching and editing on all of your best images are included. Our retouching philosophy is NOT about changing you but rather about enhancing the overall picture. Basic retouching includes colour correction, skin smoothing, stray hair, blemishes, bruises and “lumps and bumps” alterations due to wardrobe and posing.
**Tattoo and scar removal is available upon request**

Approximately one week after your session, we will set up a reveal date where you will review your gallery and select your products. Once your favourite images have been selected, we will finish the final touches on the photos and send them off for print. Our luxury boudoir albums, including production time and delivery, is approximately two weeks.

Trust me when I say that none of these things will happen at your photo shoot! In fact, I believe you’re going to have such an incredible time, that you’ll want to come back again! Boudoir photography is known to be addictive!

What sets you apart from other photographers?

We have the unique privilege of being able to offer our clients two photographers (don’t worry there’s only one camera so you won’t feel overwhelmed!) with two creative perspectives and an extra set of eyes to perfect all the little details that add up to your dream photos. That allows us to give you the best and fullest experience, which you deserve for taking the time to practice some self-love. We work together to release unhealthy mental stigmas through intention setting, breath work, self-affirmations and showing you just how beautiful you are through our lens!

What should I wear? Can I keep my clothes on?

What ever makes you feel sexy and confident! If you feel you are at your sexiest in an old sweater and a big fuzzy pair of socks or you want to strut around in your birthday suit, it’s all up to you. You are free to wear however much or little you want! All our sessions include access to our client wardrobe so there is nothing you need to worry about! All we do ask, is that you to bring your favourite lingerie set (if you have one) and a black thong to go under our garments.

What If I don’t want to get my hair and makeup done?

Listen, I’m not going to talk you into anything you don’t want to do! Oh natural isn’t a cliche for a reason. Having said that, this experience is all about YOU. A day to celebrate yourself and feel beautiful, having your hair and makeup professionally done feels so good! Also adds another level to your images and who doesn’t love getting pampered?! Our hair and makeup artist is incredible and has years of experience doing boudoir, wedding and special events. She knows exactly what works best in front of the camera! However, if you prefer to opt out of the hair and makeup experience that is totally fine.

How do you pick your outdoor locations?

Over the years, as avid adventures and explorers, we have discovered many beautiful and discrete locations for those of our clients who want to re-connect with mother-nature as well as themselves. Finding a unique, safe and breathtaking location for you to have your self-love experience, whether that be in the forest, lake or mountains, we’ve got you covered!

Do you have a studio or space?

We are so grateful to have teamed up with Bespoke Blossoms to offer our clients the most beautiful boho inspired studio space. This studio is set up with gorgeous dried florals, cozy backdrops and stunning lighting.

“I’m camera shy/awkward, I don’t have any modelling experience, I’m not photogenic.”

If we had a penny every time we heard something like this… well then we’d have a lot of dead currency haha! Literally everyone feels this way!! It’s so rare for someone to be comfortable in front of the camera right off the bat. BUT DON’T YOU WORRY! We got you! You’ll be guided through the entire experience from what to do with your hands and feet to relaxing your facial muscles. I even demonstrate the poses before hand so stop stressing and let enjoy the this life-changing experience.

Can we purchase extra images if need be?

Yes! Your full digital gallery is available as an add-on to any of our Collections OR a la carte if you prefer. We are also able to add extra pages to your Albums or additional prints for your Folio Box

I feel like I need to lose weight before my photo shoot, should I hold off on booking?

Our answer: Lose your mindset, not the weight! You won’t feel better about yourself if you put off doing things because of your weight or other reasons. Take advantage of living in the present. The best thing about boudoir is that it will teach you to embrace your curves and love yourself no matter what! You are worthy just as you are, and the moment that really sets in, everything will change.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! We offer pre-session payment plans so you can pay off your session in smaller instalments in the lead up to your shoot. Please get in touch 6-12 months before your deadline to give yourself plenty of time to make payments. The further out you book, the smaller your repayments will be.
